Putting this out there in case it happens to someone else. I got my LX570 a couple of days ago, at the dealer the automatic liftgate would work as expected from the keyfob. Later at home, it stopped working. It would beep, start to open and then close. Some googling told me the ECU might need to get reset to recalibrate it. I will admit that I manhandled it a bit in while it was in automatic mode, I assume this caused the calibration to get off.

Here's what fixed it for me:
1. Put the liftgate in manual mode and opened it fully.
2. Disconnected the negative terminal (this requires taking part of the engine cover off, and likely breaking some plastic tabs, super annoying)
3. I waited for 2 minutes, 30s is probably fine.
4. Reconnect the battery.
5. Close the liftgate by hand.
6. Switch the liftgate to automatic mode.
7. Try to open the liftgate using the FOB. It worked for me!

I hope this helps anyone else that had this problem.

So what car did you get? Did you get the tires as well? Hope you got it the price you wanted! Best!

I got a black 2011 LX570 with 95k miles. Asking price was 31k, got them to up 1k on my trade in and to take off 3300 in “fees”. I think I did ok.

I planned on looking at a 2009 LX with 130k miles for $26500, but it sold the night before. I’m very happy with my purchase, it’s in amazing shape. I also got tires from another member here (he met me at the dealer!) and I have some tundra wheels arriving Thursday, I can’t wait to get them mounted!
