Has anyone put rubber flares and mud flaps on a 80 series GXL? I've now ripped one front fibreglass flare in half and now I've ripped off one rear moulded mud flap and the other is just hanging on.
I was originally going to fix the ripped flare but now I've killed the rear moulded mud flaps I think I need to rethink it. If I take the fibreglass flares off a GXL, is it just like an RV or Standard underneath? I know there will be holes in the bodywork where the flares are bolted on but I was thinking of just putting in some rubber grommets. I'm not too interest in it looking very pretty Does anyone know how hard the rubber flares are to fit? Do they fit in well with rubber mud flaps? If anyone has any ony photos I've be very grateful .

tech screws should work ok.
Or no flares at all.
Whatever tickles your fancy.

Bought mine rolled over and removed all flares. I welded up the holes and PRESTO!! You do not need to put any flares on at all. Witness the many pics of trucks with rubber bedliner where the flares used to be. The tires tuck in well under the fenders, and the flares are just there to look cool. Check out Sunny Belly thread on the site.

What size tyres/offset rims are you running? Aussie laws regarding tyres outside the guards are pretty strict. My old 33/12.5R15s used to just stick out past the flares so without the flare I would've needed rubber flares to be legal. With correct offset you can get away with no flares and still be legal.
