Tons of good info on here from guys running 295/70r18 Nitto Terra Grappler ATs but is anyone running the Trail Grappler MT version on stock LC 18" wheels withOUT spacers up front? Specifically as it relates to rubbing the UCA.

I have a set of 18" LC alloys as well as a set of 18" Tundra Steelies and a new set of Trail Grappler MTs ready to be mounted. I'd prefer to run the LC alloys but I'm concerned that the extra side tread on these tires will rub the UCA? I don't really want to run spacers if I can avoid it.

Any experience out there with these tires would be greatly appreciated.

Look up @pfran42 build thread. I believe he ran/runs a set of those but I can't recall if he had spacers or not.
 
My 295/65/18 duratracs' side lugs come very close to the upper ball joint with no spacers. I have the spc UCAs. And the hairs from the tire when new are a paper width away from the rubber of the upper ball joint. Different tire. Different company. Different UCA? You can file this comment under "unhelpful."

Not true..LOL. That's actually helpful. Your tires are a bit shorter than the 295/70s so in theory the buldge would be closer to the UCA so I'm hopeful that with taller profile of the tires I have I should be close but not rubbing.

If they do end up rubbing slightly I'm not afraid to grind the UCA down a bit :)

295/70-18 Cooper STT Pro (~34.6")
Stock 18" LX470 rims
Stock UCA
Stock AHC suspension no lift
Slight rubbing on plastic fender wheel, no uca contact
