I thought I should pass on a tidbit.:D
I bought a Fiskars pole trimmer six years ago to trim some extensive freeze damage from one of my trees. Great tool. This year, after three hard freezes, I had a bunch more heavy pruning to do, and snap, broke it.

I figured I was in for a new purchase.:frown: But I looked up the Fiskars website and realized my old one had a lifetime warranty.:hhmm: Two pictures and an email later, the brown santa dropped off an 8 foot box with a brand new pruner.:bounce::bounce2: That's a $70 tool and I would have been happy with replacement parts.

My opinion of Fiskars just went from :meh: to :D:grinpimp::clap:.

Good to know! My parents bought another brand that never worked well. Then picked up a Fiskars model that was night and day difference from the other brand.

Yes Fiskars definitely does make a marvelous product and they also stand behind it if it ever experiences a problem. I have their extension pole pruner, several smaller trimmer things and two absolutely awesome axes. The axes in specific really surprised me; they "seem" so lightweight looking and feeling as compared to old tried and true hickory handle axes but man they stay sharp, hit hard and last and last and last. Really pleased with products from these folks.

Edit: They also make the best balanced and best built machete I've ever used.

the brown santa

Funny how we get excited about the brown in the driveway..:D

Great tool, I've got one with a powerhead, it has got alot of use this spring.

I haven't sprung for the powerhead, most of my big limbs are within reach of the sawsall.:hhmm: Unfortunately, my pruner was down for about two weeks, so now I have a bunch of work to do in the heat.:crybaby:

You will be good if you tackle it this next week, forcast looks good other than the winds.;)

I got work on the roof to complete first, that's not fun when the shingles are to hot to touch. At least, tree trimming is done is the shade.:hhmm: Today was supposed to be the day, but it rained all day.:meh:

I found an extension pole for a tree trimmer that adds about eight feet to my trimmer. Now I can reach a lot of stuff that would normally require a ladder or a bucket truck, very cool. Comes in handy for putting Christmas lights on big trees and stuff like that too.

Funny I just use a 16' piece of pvc pipe cut a slit on one side and it is big enough to hold the Christmas lights... it cost me 2 bucks.

This setup gives me three 8' segments of fiberglass tubing, light and strong for all kinds of things including Christmas lights, but especially useful for pruning trees. I found this extension on my property many years ago, probably left by trimmers working on the power/phone lines.
