So I'm coming down y'alls way next weekend. Staying on Goat Island with some friends. We shrimped out around the creek at Ft Sumter last year and 3 hrs of shrimping over bait only produced 4 dozen medium shrimp. Y'all have any suggestions of where we could produce more shrimp? We are also fishing for Reds. We are fishing up behind Dewee's for that.

Marshall, I quit shrimping a few years ago and started buying them right off the boat.
At $3.00 to $3.50 a pound, it wasn't worth catching my own. I can hook you up here, I know 2 captains to buy from.
Just give me a call.
A little ways up the waterway at Bulls Bay is where we had our best luck shrimping if you still want to go that route.
Next weekend is Logan's Run, so I will be there, but I can send you the names if you are interested.
Where on Goat are you staying, We (scouts) just went over the first of August for a weekend. We were right across from
41st ave, across from the jet ski rentals.

Very cool that you are staying on Goat island. Always thought the whole "access only by boat" for Goat and Dewee's was cool as hell. Kind of pointless for me to ever stay out there I think, but still very cool.

I will be around that weekend, ended up not being able to make Logan's, just have too much going on for our upcoming wedding. Reds are pretty thick in the right spots in the grass. It sounds like you will be looking in the right area. Also there are a ton of bonnetheads in the deeper spots of those channels near the ICW, bastards are everywhere. Fun to catch none the less.

I'm with David on the shrimping, if coordinated you can just pick them up right off the boat when they come in. If you are shrimping for fun then go for it. If you are just looking to buy some fresh shrimp then you can beat right off the boat.

Head north into Bulls Bay instead of south towards all of the traffic. Set up shop at the mouth of a creek opening into a flats area.
