Greetings,

I've been cruising around here for weeks, perhaps months, taking in the collected experience and wisdom. I however cannot make up my mind on what to do with my '13. I've been presented with two viable and affordable options. First is the basic ARB/OME Lift with new UCAs and the second is the Icon stage 1 setup with new UCAs. I realize that the Icon kit will get me more lift, but I'm not sure it matters. 285/65/18 or 285/70/18 is the end goal. It's mostly a daily driver and will see some time off road at the hunt club and maybe some car camping with the fam. I also tow a ~3500lb boat as often as I can. If there weren't $1000 difference I'd probably flip a coin. I reckon its worth noting that I detest the stock handling. It rolls and wallows around like a top-heavy boat. For F%cks sake can someone help a brother out?

Thanks in advance.

Icon suspension is trash and I’d never suggest anyone spend their money on it.

Put on a set of e-rated, 33” tires. They will stiffen up the ride and handling and it maybe enough to meet your wants/needs.

Go with OME from there if necessary.

Keep in mind that you’re driving a tall, 6000lb SUV. It’ll never handle like an M3

Icon stage 1 is definitely not worth the money. You're paying $200 for a 2" monotube shock. No thanks.

This is useful. Thanks. I haven’t seen anyone poopoo the icon setup anywhere on here yet. I’m pulling the trigger on Monday. Looking like it’ll be OME.

Do you have an M3 I can borrow for a few days to make a comparison?

You'll be very happy with OME! It's a solid setup that stiffens the ride up just enough without making it jarring

I paid for the parts today. Went with the 2722 rear. I was tempted to get the 2723 since I carry some tools and what not back there and plan on swapping bumpers in the future. Parts are back ordered a bit. I will post some pics when it’s done. Thanks for the input folks.

I have a 2013 with 3" OME, Nitrocharged shock suspension and SPC's UCA's. Stiffer rear springs to tow a 4000 lb wakeboard boat & manage ARB bumpers. I drive it from Vail CO to Denver weekly. Mild, but rocky off-roading. Handles great, a little stiff but manages body roll very well and I don't worry about hitting potholes at 70 mph. I also run 285/70 r18 E rated Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

Great looking 200. How’d you arrive at 3”. I thought the OME spring get you 2” in the front?

Got ya.
I’m having some second thoughts about not getting the 2723s. I carry some extra stuff around but it doesn’t total 440lbs. Did you drive on the 2723s before you added the bumper?

I'm doing mine in 2 weeks. The guys I spoke to when I was ordering the parts strongly recommended NOT getting the 2723's even tho I have a constant weight of about 250lbs in the back. I tend to go overkill with certain things and they did a good job convincing me it is overkill and will ride horrible for a DD. They know the ARB products inside and out. Also great with real world situations like it's my daily driver but.... I want to do this or that with it. They are honest and will straight up tell you if it's a bad decision or offer a work around. Located in New Jersey. Also they seem to have some sort of connection with someone because they always seem to have the parts in stock or can get them to you in a week even in 2020.

I had 2723s and they will knock the teeth out of your head without some serious weight back there.

Hello friends,

I want to thank all of you for your help in my decision. It took a while to get all the parts in, but I went with the OME 2" kit w/ 2272s and OME UCAs. The thing rides like it should. No more rolling and rocking around. Its firmer, but not harsh--completely civilized and a pleasure to drive. I'm a "frugal" SOB so I want to get some more miles out of these tires but sometime this year I'll get my 5 285/65s.
Thanks again.

JK
