First trip to Uwharrie

I'm 6' 3" as well and seriously considered selling to get a 100. I love this thing but it's not tall person friendly... Do you have a procedure to remove the dead pedal? I don't think this is really $142 worth of metal but if it works it could be worth $500 to me. I need to order the Gamviti gears to do at the same time as well. The leather is shredded so might as well get them covered while they're out too...

Success at the range but failure on the trail

WHat happened with the bar? Did you buy the bar new? I run carbon bar.

I was out there Saturday for the Uwharrie workday. The kids and I hit Wolf Den after the workday before heading home. The two white 100 series were behind me as I entered the trail.

BTW, unlike aluminum bars, carbon bars have a wide variety of quality and strength due to layering, molded inserts, and thickness of the wall. I run a Syntace Vector 740mm on my singlespeed hardtail and love it. Syntace carbon bars are certified for downhill standard DH 2002.4 and are some of the strongest on the market.

6'2" here and while driving for long distances can be uncomfortable, my son sits behind me and I can't move the seat any further back.

Went through a creek crossing too fast, thinking I could roll up the otherside. The bank was steeper than I thought and when my tire hit, I snapped the bar as I went over. No injuries so it's all good, just wished it had happened at 11.5 miles instead of .4 miles. I did buy it new a couple of years ago so I'm not sure there's any warranty left but after this, not sure I want the same bar back on there.

Yes, these were cheap carbon (Origin8) so I got what I paid for. I will definitely be looking to replace with a higher quality bar, Syntace is on that list...

Syntace has gotten REALLY proud of their bars lately. I paid MSRP for mine 5 or 6 years ago and it was $150. The same bar today is $220 :(

What trail are you on?
That was on 96/Falls Dam at the Flatwoods Trailhead side. I got a couple miles in and decided to turn around since I was by myself...

Let me know at least two weeks in advance, I'll join you.
