I couldn't wait anymore. I got this LX in December with big plans of 37's and a whatever else I can afford from Slee but we decided on a trip to South America in a couple of months and will have to wait on the upgrades.
So I bought some nice 33s BFG A/T from a fellow mudder and went on a day run to Santiago Peak. Here are some pictures (not that wild but It was a great day)

Nice pics, how did the BFG Perform....I have had them on my Suburdan and F250 and liked them except for "OK" performance when winter get icy..

Trying to decide between them & Duratracs

Dura tracs only have 2 ply sidewalls. Depends on how much wheeling you plan on doing....

Put on a 2.5 inch lift and get rid of those step running boards and I bet you will get most places you want to go with little trouble. Thanks for the nice pictures.

Very cool... any change to your aspirations for 37's after this run, or has this just fanned the fire?

I showed the :princess: your pics, she's from Catalina

Thank You, the tires did great and for $300 for 5 with lots of thread left I couldn't pass them up. Although the trail is pretty mild I went up a 45+degree short bypass, it went up like driving up my driveway. I also have them in the 2500 silverado.

I"m definitely still going for a 4 or 6" lift, front and rear bumpers, on board air, and a few other things as soon as I save enough or if I decide to sell the Samurai:frown:. I like the slee lifts because they seem pretty comprehensive but expensive.
Also, not sure yet on the tire size 35 vs 37 yet. I haven't seen any with 37's in person but for the size of this beast I figure bigger tires would be better. However, I wouldn't want to limit the up travel or have to cut the truck too much so I'll just keep on reading for now.

I'm glad you enjoyed the pics

You couldn't have picked a more clear and beautiful day to go up to Santiago Peak. Nice Pics!

 great pics - thanks for sharing!

Right on use it the way it meant to be used.

Very Clear

This had to have been one of the most clear days in a long time. I was coming down the toll road into newport beach and could see all of LA, san clemete and catalina island amazing. Wish It was that clear the last couple of time I was up there.

Thanks guys, can't wait to take it out again on a little more challenging trail. Although the tow hitch was getting caught on some of the drainage humps I think I'll leave it as protection for now.

good idea on leaving on the rear hitch, we call it the rear slider till a real bumper is put on.
