I'm loving the LC, though the AC blower speed controls being on the LCD / Touch screen display is actually frustrating as hell.

Has anyone worked out how to hack in a manual knob to adjust the blower speed? I really can't tolerate backing up, and being blasted with air and having to put the thing in park just to turn the *()#! off.

Never head of a way to do that.

On the other hand...changing fan speed takes about 1.5 seconds:
-Poke climate button...poke speed.

I usually have mine on auto...and adjust temp with the driver-side up/down button without ever touching the screen. Keeping it out of 4-zone makes the global fan adjustments easy.

When reversing out of a driveway, it actually takes longer and the time+context switch does increase risk of an accident IMO.

I.e.,

1. Path is clear, as notied visually and reverse camera.
2. Half way down the drive way, I see the road & sidewalk is clear, but am now being hit in the face air, (not to mention the noise imparing my hearing). I'm ranting a bit, yes I know.
3. Stop the car, put it in park, so that I can actually use the display for non-reverse purposes..
4. Then finally "Poke climate button...poke speed."
5. Re-check the drives, and road (with less field of view now since i'm closer)

I'll end up doing this myself and sharing with everyone if it hasn't already been done.

Call me OCD, but I need to have physical control over the air blowing at me, for the same reason I need a physical dial for the volume of my radio.

Thanks all

Guess I could just press "off".. haha

I’m not sure whether 16+ is different but on my 13 it’ll switch right out of backup camera mode when I hit any of the map/phone/climate/whatever buttons

you could close down the vent all or part way that is hitting you in the face

Some Options (LOL)

1. Hit “Off” button (0.25sec)
2. Tap vent grate to point away from face (0.5 sec)
3. Turn vent off (1 sec)
4. Poke Climate control...then fan speed (+/- 1.5 sec)
5. Adjust before reversing down driveway (at your leisure)
6. Hire an escort to press buttons for you (variable time)
7. Sit in passenger seat and make wife or kids back up whilst you man the air controls :hillbilly:
9. Sell truck

5A. Back up the driveway when returning home, eliminating camera engagement when pulling out of driveway.

Ya, I put in my own rearward camera, which is a reeeally handy thing, since it comes on as soon as I flip the switch, and doesn’t wait for reverse...and since my stock camera is mostly blocked by my swingouts...

I was going to suggest just hitting the off button on your way down the driveway. Sooo much easier than attempting manual control of fan speed for that short a time. Even if you could find and tap into the motor wires, I'm not sure at all about integration of manual control with the screen control.

OT. . .what size bolt is in the grab handle? I'm thinking of mounting my GPS unit in that location (driver's side).

I just move the vent closer dial under the vent to close off some flow if its blowing harder than I want it to. That is one huge oversight on a vehicle that has so many adjustments for virtually everything else in the cabin. Some things just need a knob or switch and that is definitely one of them.

I like option #6 :)

I'm not sure if this will resolve or amplify the original complaint regarding the blowing... please report back with your results :)
