Good evening! I've been on the Mud for the past couple of years and have truly enjoyed reading other members builds, road trips, lessons learned etc. I've learned a ton and there is still so much to learn. So, last August I finally purchased a used 1999 100 Series. I simply love it! I've been wanting a LC since the early 80's when one of my neighbors had one. This is a long term project truck I'll use for Hunting, road trips, exploring Oregon and Washington etc. I'd love to meet other local members in the Portland / Bend area...
When I purchased the LC, it already had a K&N Cold Air intake and a Borla Exhaust installed. The Drone drove me nuts and I later had a Magnaflow muffler installed. What a difference it made! I could finally hear myself think.

So far I've installed;

Toyo MT 255/85/16's,
PIAA 520 ATP lights,
Ironman 2" Suspension lift (Foam Cell)
Ironman Commercial Deluxe Bull Bar.

She's slowly coming together and am very pleased so far. I'd like to extend a HUGE thanks to Mark, LT and the crew at Metal Tech in Newberg, Oregon. They are simply awesome with their knowledge, support and service! Next up is the OPOR Sliders... I'm also debating the Slee Diff Drop kit. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks again to all!

Welcome! I lurked on here for a long time too before I purchased my '03 recently. Post some pics.

Gents,

Forgive me as I have pictures but am having technical difficulty attaching / posting them. It keeps asking for a URL / Video / Pic ID. Nada... Standby.

Here She is! More to come... Thanks.

Looks like a nice rig Mallard.

If you're going to go with a lift of any type, the diff drop kit will help move the CVs closer to stock alignment.

Go Ducks.

Welcome! How do you like the ride and drive-ability with the Iron Man lift? Did you use the Iron Man torsion bars or stay with stock? What made you choose the foam cell shocks over the standards?

For the diff drop with a 2" lift, I've heard some say they needed it (CVs started leaking) and others have had no issues at all.

PDXLC,
Great questions. I decided to go with the Ironman Torsion bars and the foam cell shocks. Plus UCA's (Can't recall the brand). I'm new to all this and wanted to take a different path than the traditional ARB set up etc. Nothing against them just wanted to try something different. The Ironman set up came highly recommended from a couple different resources. I made the leap and so far have zero regrets! Was able to take her out over the past few days east of Bend and see how everything came together. I am very pleased with how the truck rides (corners better) and I do not miss the factory suspension. Read as the wife is not complaining!

Off road the truck did great. Went on some steep climbs and descents over some loose soil, over lava rock and off camber terrain. Quite pleased with the suspension and the travel over some nasty med and large rocks and ruts. Realized how a front locker would have been nice. The Toyo MT's tend to dig easily. Also realized how the truck needs momentum on climbs. So much more weight and mass than my 02' 4Runner. I'll post some pics within the next few days.

ElHefe,
There are 146K on the odometer... I estimate that I'll only put around 3K on her annually. Hopefully this will be a long term relationship... Cheers!
