Removing the roof rack is also free, or very nearly so.

Okay, okay! I'll take off the rear corner monkey cages, too. But I'm keeping the rack on top to prevent roof scratching in inverted positions. Gotta have some protection. Yeah, right.

Its mere precense is doing more damage than good. Search about the OEM roof rack aka rust attractor.

And no, if you invert, the rack will provide zero protection.

Red Cone is only open to the top, I'd have to go in and out, I don't think I really want to drive UP Red Cone. Plus, I don't think I could afford the damage to my seats... or pants...

Down through Montezuma and you'll end up in Keystone. Piece of cake.
