I've been running the Weathertech universal fit mats for a year or so, and have zero complaints.

Excellent find, and great how the dealership worked with you. For lift supports, I have tried several aftermarket ones and have been happiest with the Monroe Max-Lift. For the air filter, the OEM is best. Stay away from K&N - it does not filter effectively allowing fines to get through, plus the oil contaminates the intake and all the sensors. K&N is best suited for the drag strip, not in modern passenger vehicles with all their sensitive electronic controls. I have the Lexus branded all weather mats in both my LXs - but they are no longer sold by the dealers.

Thanks LX. I have already bought the Strongarms but I will try out the Monroe's next.

Good news, Land Cruiser Specialists looked at it today and everything looked good. The stuff the mobile mechanic found like the CV boot and gasket leak, along with the battery and fluids all looked good. They think when the gasket and CV boots were replaced this year, the area wasn't cleaned well. Thanks to the mobile mechanic and the stuff he found wrong I got the price down another $800, and nothing needs to be fixed. Win Win.

BTW is there a way I can change the thread title? Its going to take a while but I am going to do a few things here and there to my LX, really didn't want to start a new one to document it.

I have the hexomats and am happy with them for the price. I've got both fronts and the middle row too. If you want to see pictures I can walk out and take a couple but the lighting won't be great, I can try though. I put the strong arm struts on the rear hatch and they work great. When I get around to the hood struts I'll buy them from strong arm as well.

I've typically just bought the air filters off amazon. Here is the one for the air box, its saying on amazon that its the wrong one for my '07 LX but I've used two of them. Here is the cabin air filters that are behind the glove box which your '06 will have. It takes two filters at a time, they sit on top of each other. Look for the thread here about the cabin filters with the understanding that your rig will already be set up for them as opposed to some of the earlier models that needed a little retrofitting to get them in.

As for the thread title, message the mods and they should be able to do that for you. For this section they are @Trunk Monkey and @e9999.

Busy year with kids, family medical issues and work. I did purchase the Hexo Mats in black and I am a big fan so far. I also got a really good deal from this little shop to fix the leather on the drivers seat. They replaced the whole panel and it looks perfect, cost a couple of hundred and has a life time warranty. Because of the family medical issues I have been driving from Austin, TX to Wichita, KS more. So I also purchased a X Grip phone mount for navigation use, which I found great reviews on here but I was torn on the price. Glad I listened to everyone here.

I also finally got a chance to upgrade my tires a few days ago. I was going back and forth on what to go with but I just decided to be like most other people and get the KO2's in 275/70r18. I picked these because they were cheaper then the Cooper ST Maxx's and Nitto Ridge Grapplers and had a strong following. Discount Tire had them at $240/piece but I got them to price match their eBay store. eBay was running 15% back (max $100) in eBay Bucks on auto parts, and they had a $100 rebate on their best tires. So I was able to get $200 off from the store, so $190 per tire. No rubbing at all so far. They are surprisingly quite so far and drive well on the highway. Nothing wet or dirt yet. They refused to put a spare of 275/70 or even 275/65, said their is zero space with the 60 as is. I need to look into that.

I also wanted to give a shout out to Land Cruiser Specialist in north Austin. These guys are awesome and have been extremely helpful and cool to chat with. Unfortunately they don't do alignments, so I took the LX to get aligned today and the guy at the shop loved seeing a "Lexus with KO2's". He had never seen that before. Eventually I will get sliders put on (need the running boards for the short wife and kids) and a new roof rack. Not in a hurry though. the guys a LCS had a 100 series on a lift and showed me what needed to be done with the sliders with AHC. Even offered to cit the metal covers for free if needed, if I did the install myself. Cool guys.
