I guess my obsession is rubbing off. My oldest, after driving a 98 4Runner for the last 4 years decided to take a step up. We found another 2004 LC locally - southern vehicle, rust free with only 177k on the clock. And, in Thundercloud — what a great color. It’s in pretty good shape, just added a set of 275/70/18 KO3s. Great looking. I’m jealous! He’s not on mud yet but will be soon.

man lucky kid. My son would love a 100 as his first vehicle or even a 4runner, but I'm gonna let him beat up a hand-me-down ford escape first

Great looking truck, wish I had such a great vehicle as my first. I had an unreliable chevy that left me stranded 3 times a year. That is what drove me into Toyotas, so I guess i should be thankful

Thanks guys. He actually bought this himself, and his 4runner as well – his first car actually was an old Ford (I say old, but it was an 06 and the newest vehicle Ive ever owned!) We're all Toyota now, wife drives an 05 sequoia. Cheers.

AWESOME! I just picked up this 2006 for the eldest daughter. Single owner with 284k; only needs new cvs sometime in the next 10k.

Picked up a bluetooth module from VAIS and the cupholder upgrade along with the cyclone light dome light replacements from CruiserDM.

She is so pumped...and so is dad.

Great 1st car!

The thundercloud looks really different when there's...well.. thunderclouds. .
I'm still debating on a full color change of mine.. Cement gray from Chevrolet or Audi is nice.
i don't remember seeing that stripe on LC's.. Dealer option?

I remember my first Beetle's break downs like if it was this morning. Loved that little car. Always left me stranded in amazing areas with excellent views.

Land Cruiser 100 Series are really still a great value compared to new and almost new offerings out there...way more vehicle for the money. And if you make your kid pay for the gas, it automatically means they aren't going to go all over the place all the time. If they get into the skinny pedal too much, they can watch the fuel needle go down...

Best color! Had an 02 4Runner that color before I got my first 100. Seemingly it's a natural progression :) Congrats on raising a kid independent enough to purchase his own cars, btw.

I agree 100%. This was all his idea and gas and insurance is on him as well – he's loving it but it is familiar since he's been in our other family cruiser for 10 years already.

The market is pretty soft right now for most Land Cruiser series but the 100 in particular, great time to pick up one for a son or daughter or another one for the fleet! :)

My wife wanted me to give my pristine white '99 to my oldest son when he turned 16...er...NO! He got a 4Runner and then my youngest also got a 4Runner. No sweet Land Cruisers for newbie drivers...plus I love driving my stockish 100! :)

Daughter's ride is almost ready for her. She turns 16 on Thursday. ODO is up from 284k to 304k as of today.

A few items have been repaired since purchase:

New radiator, water pump, hoses; truck had been running the original and I doubted it would make it through another Texas summer when I smelled something funny one day.
New tensioner, idler pulley, belt.

A few items have been upgraded since the first posting of this vehicle upon purchase:
VAIS Bluetooth: 4th unit I've owned....ESSENTIAL! 15/10
Escape Gear rear tire cover/gear bag....ordered directly from South Africa to get a non-logo item. LOVE 10/10
Escape Gear First and Second Row Covers....ordered from Equipt and arrived in 3 days! 11/10
Cruiser Design 2nd Row and Cargo LED CYCLONE Dome Light Upgrade: 11/10 LOVE LOVE!
Cruiser Design 100 Series Cup Holder Insert: 10/10

I am not ordinarly a "homer" for items, but having the Escaper Gear items on my 200, I knew I'd love them. I'm very impressed with the Cruiser Design Items.

New wheels and tires going on tomorrow and a full detail with some serious attention to the hood and improving the luster of the paint, removing swirls, etc.
BEFORE Pics. Will update in a couple of days when tires and wheels (very different style going on) are installed and this particular detailer makes his attempt at a correction.
