Well, like my buddy @DirtDauberGarage, I’m an old school guy that just got my first 80. I traded a nice LS patina FJ55 for this ‘93 80 that has a rebuilt 6.0L LS, 4L65e, NP doubler and split case. The interior is beautiful too. Drove it home 2 hours and it runs so great and is so comfortable. My other rigs are a mustard 40, a 45 lpb, a 45 swb, and a 3rd gen 4Runner.

Cheers,

Mike

Wow!! @Lifelong40Fan that thing is NICE!!! Grey on grey is one of my favorite color combos, and that LS is sweet... power for days!

And yes... I am old school. Nothing will replace the spot in my heart for the old 40 series (and 55s), but it sure is nice to have some modern creature comforts, by modern, I mean 30 years old. I love driving my 40, and have done several 3-4 hour dives in it, but it is tough. Riding in an 80 with AC, power steering, etc. is like a whole different experience.

For me... the most important factor is that my new 80 puts a smile on my face when I drive it, almost as big as the 40 does, and because of that... my new 80 series has a special place in my heart now, just like my 40s do.

Nice rig! I love my manual cloth seats...very comfy for the long rides...I drove mine home from AZ to MD when I bought it a few years ago. My wife even complimented how comfortable it was on the road, especially for a truck!

Now power wise, I wish I had a bit more than I have, but re-gearing did help some...
