#1 cylinder at TDC compression.
Before installing the dizzy, I recommend spinning the oil pump & confirm oil flow up to the rocker assembly. Engine rotation position for this is cylinders # 1 & 6 at bottom dead center. Further explained "HERE"
You may already be aware but when you install the distributor be "absolutely certain" that the distributor shaft tip enters the oil pump slot and the distributor is fully seated.
