Eventhough I've been posting on the board for about month since I got my 94 LC. The weather finally let me take some pictures a few days ago. So here it is and me.

I probably paid too much according to some ($9300) with 198k miles, but the PO just rebuilt the engine 8k ago since he bought it a year ago from Cali with a knock. Turned out to be a loose nut found in the oil pan he said. He is also a Toy mechanic and rebuilt the front axle/birfields. Everything works as it should too. So I figured everything or most everything is done for me. And it even has the locking diffs, which was the first question I asked about while looking.

Also, thanks all for the help I've received so far. I'll be around here for a while and try to provide some good input as well.

Yes.. my plates do say Montana, but I'm going to grad school here in Ohio.
Now all I have to do is sell my 88 4Runner

the truck looks nice anyway :D with a rebuild and an ARB that is not a bad price. what kind of rear bumper is that?

p.s. get that roof rack off soon.

Looks good :D
I live in northern KY bout an hour south.
Some friends & I are goin wheelin in a couple of weeks. :D
Goin down to Red River Gorge I think or Livingston.
PM me if your intrested in goin :flipoff2:
Dig the cruiser I just got a 92 (slow as hell)
94 $-runner is my beater though :)

Semlin Why remove the rack

Front is the non-winch ARB which it came with and the Rear is the Kaymar which it also came with. The hellas came from my 4runner.
The PO was also going to wait and put on some OME shocks but hadn't got the money yet, and the bushings on the shocks that were on it were all dried up and rattling. So i asked if he could put on factory shocks so I could atleast not have to worry about them on the ride home and for a while so he did for $100 it would have only been $9200 but hey. New shocks for $100 isn't bad espically when you don't have to do the work yourself. And can take the 3 hour ride home safely.

Yep I know about the roof rack rust. I don't notice any, but I haven't tried taking anything off either. Will check it when the weather actually stays nice for a while. But I don't plan on using the rack much either. SO if I can just seal it up, I won't have to patch up holes and all from removing it.
Thanks

well you won't see any until you pull the rack off, IMO any rust is bad even alittle so you'll want to check. And also your rack has been off before. If you notice you do not have the two beams that run between the two outside rails. You can only remove the beams by unbolting the rails from the roof. Which means then the screws probably weren't re-sealed when it was put back on. I could be wrong, someone could have re-sealed the bolts but I doubt it, bottom line I'd check the rack.

Oh yea.. did I forget to mention that my other car is a 89 Supra Turbo :) The avatar is an actual pic from my MKIII :) She stays in the garage until extremely nice days. Only Toyotas for this guy.

And that would only be pre 90, as they changed to the funky T in 90+ for the MKIII's

Oh ok Bear , for some reason I was under the impression it was more work than that. Thanks for clearing it up.

woah, hold on I mean the srcrew that mount the rack. There's 4 on each side rail and 2 on each rib rail. The threads of the screws are sealed with a RTV sealant not the rails. It would really only take 10mins to unscrew the rack, check for rust around the threaded inserts and then longer if you have to treat the rust, but then you apply sealant to the treads of the screws when you bolt the rack back down.

Ahh, 90 was it, my roomates got a 92 but I've got a 96 back home. Wish I would have got a 97 15th to match my 97 40th landcrusier. I must say you do have a good choice in cars :D

Na.....Junk treats me a lot worse!! :D

Gary--

Nice to hear another Ohio cruiserhead. We are few and far between it looks like around here. There are a few other heads in your area--or at least not too far...Phishtaco is in Cinncy, and a few others on the boards are in the Columbus area, and I'm all the way in Akron, also going to graduate school.

If you're ever up in the area, drop a line...and, nice truck and :flipoff2: :flipoff2: welcome!

Best.

Akron, OH

Well the last 11 years I had been living in Billings, MT. And I took my undergrad in Bozeman at Montana State U. I do get back every once in a while to see the parents there, but I usually fly back. BTW I'm 24 if anyone cared and thanks all for the warm welcome -- I know I'm a geek :)

Beno, if I had known before there was someone else in akron I would have asked if you could check the truck out b4 I drove up there. I bought it from a guy in Wadsworth. Oh well the 3 hour drive from Dayton wasn't that bad and I had never been up around the area either, so it was new territory to explore.

Exactly what I've been looking for. Wish I could find one within a state or two.
Nice rig. Great color too.
Russ
