Having owned a 1986 and 2004 LC I have been wanting another one of these great trucks since we sold the 2004 for a mini van for our two baby girls. Now we wore out the mini van, got mom a bmw an dad is getting his LC LX back. Looked at new rigs and although they are nice and excellent, I like the older body style and refuse to pay $80k for anything with wheels. After much help from everyone on this forum I found a 2001 lx470 with 56000 miles. Located it at a lexus dealer in Ft. Myers Fla. They wanted $19500 but finally agreed on $18000 and the timing belt water pump service. I had an independent inspection done since I live in Va. and am about 12 hours away. I do not think the price i a steal but I think it is fair. Truck is one owner, garaged and lots of records. Underneath looks extremely clean since it is from the south. Will cost about $675 to ship or I could go get it but I can not spare 2 or 3 days. Would have liked to pay a little less but I am pleased for the condition. I do not mind paying a little more for nice clean vehicles. Ill post some photos when it arrives. Thanks for all the help.

I dont think thats a bad price at all, however, regardless of the price you cant poo poo on is the fact that it has incredibly low miles! that means the interior is more than likely in very nice shape and its a southern car means no rust on the underside or on the body and with the timing belt service done you'll have a car that'll last for ages. my guess is when you go to sell it (if you choose) you'll get 18k for it in 4 years if the millage is kept down. I am a firm believer that both the 80 and 100 series only gain value if the millage is low and there is no rust, everyone loves these things and use car buyers always pay a little more for a completely mint condition vehicle with low miles. Enjoy!

Congratulations on an excellent find. The low mileage and a new timing belt make the price quite reasonable. A garaged, well maintained older vehicle with records is of great value. While not a steal, that is a really good value.

I also went the route of a van between LC and LX. The Sienna AWD has a lot of attractive features and options, but I did not realize how spoiled we had become with the LC when I got it. The 01 LX has been great for us. I like taking scenic routes off pavement during trips and my wife likes the stability and confidence it gives just running around town. She also likes that other drivers give more space to the LC/LX, whereas they would cut in front of the Sienna.

Not to get into the whole mini van debate but they are what they are. Great and practical for a bunch of kids and to rack up the miles. We splurged and purchased a brand new 03 LC. Loved that vehicle but usually never buy anything new. Probably to nice for babies to throw up in all the time and for spilled milk. Ha Ha. I am a little anal about such things. Anyhow sold it after ten years and all ways regretted it. We do a lot of skiing outdoor stuff and so I started looking a few months back. Don't know that I will ever go back to anything else. Was not really looking for a LX but prices on the older LC LX are pretty even in my opinion. This truck has no nav which I prefer and looks to be excellent. Should be here in a week or so.
