Well, I scored a 99 LX at a local auction. Love the comfort. Plan on building an Expo rig. Got it in November and been base lining over the holidays. It's got 139k and in descent shape. I've done the following: All OEM parts...
Timing belt/Pulleys
Water pump
Thermostat
New Valve Cover Gaskets
New hoses and serpentine belt
Toyota Red Coolant
New plugs
New refurbished OEM steering rack
New tie rod ends
PFran LED kit
Near future plans:
Flush AHC fluid
Adjust normal height up
New wheels /tires
Remove running boards
Plasti dip grill and mirrors
Double din stereo
And so on.......

The paint has some fade on the roof up front and the mirrors look bad, but not bad. Tiny crack in dash probably from something hitting it. Might put a Hula girl over it...I'm gonna run 285/75. 17 s. Not sure about armor yet.

What wheels are you planning to run for your 17's?

I'm just curious what you paid at the auction.... I was thinking of doigt he same.
Thanks.

Pat, congratulations on the 100 addition to the stable. How's the Pig coming along? I'm intrigued by the plasti dipping of the side view mirrors. Did you fully take them apart or just spray the outside? Mind shooting a picture and posting up of what they look like from the mirror side?

I just masked off the mirror and sprayed...I'm sure if you adjust their rot you'll see untouched areas, but my mirror won't be moving...

Well, my family is growing by one more....(Wife is prego), so I can't keep my 80 and my LX......I don't know which one I want to sell. Kinda torn. I'm pretty attached to my 80, but the LX is so comfortable and quiet. AAAAHHHHHHH.........I don't know what I'm going to do.:bang:

Haha addition by subtraction. Congrats:cheers:

I had already ordered these wheels so I've got them on. I have 1-1/4" spacers up front and don't think I need them. The tires are rubbing. I'm gonna take them off and see. Looks sweet though. I have s few weeks to decide on what I'm keeping. 80 or. LX???? s***

First off, congrats. It appears that with every post you are providing the answer to your question. While the 80's are rad, if you can only have one and it is going to be your DD, I could not fathom not going with the 100.

Kids cost a bloody fortune and the 100 should have slightly lower operating costs. Moreover, the 100 is only really slow as opposed to dangerously slow!
If being used as a secondary vehicle, I would keep the 80.
