Got some more done tonight. I think that the legs will be strong enough.
I also sprayed the inside and hooked up some chains for the tail gate. Now just to finish the swing out and I think it will be done. :hmm:

Trailer with just the legs supporting it.

OK great system fromt to rear, the top is impressive would you mind showing the fabrication underneath for strength in the lid? keep up the good work and posts. Jim

I don't have any supports under the lid. I could stand on the middle of the lid without any problems so I thought that was good enough.

They are getting really hard to find. The goverment had lots of them to sell but I think that they are now done selling them so your only hope it to find someone that has one. It took me 8 month before I found mine. Good Luck with the hunt!

Yes, those out there are in the hands of owners who for the most part don't want to part with them. Keep looking. I found ours here in the MUD Classifieds.

Also, they tend to be concentrated in the Northeast and Canada. Some did go West and South, but if you're anywhere and can't find them locally, check CL and other such boards elsewhere.

They are worth the trouble to locate, because there's not much they really need to be a completely functional trailer, since they're not corroded like the older vintage US 1/4 ton trailers.

Well it's done for now........:bounce:

Looks very good. Quickfist clamps on the fender for the shovel?

sweet rig

Fantastic job. I especially like how the stability legs mount and their storage location - WOW!

What is the process for setting up camp and leveling the trailer? My guess:
1) mount legs
2) extend legs individually to similar angles
3) tighten ratchet strap to lift evenly

Do you use any type of anchor so they don't slip. Is that even an issue?

Well done!

So we are back from our holiday. Pics of the trailer.

awesome set-up and pic's/////////////.......where did you camp????

I didn't know where to post this so I'll just add to this: I found some Scepter fuel cans so I need to get the spout. The bag that it came in was non-reusable so I made this out of ABS, now I just need to find a place to mount it.

What you need:
4" screw plug
4" Adapter
3" TO 2" coupling
2" pipe
2" cap

So for about 25 bucks you get this:
