Well I have to give the credit to my wife on this one. We had been looking for a low milage CLEAN 100 series for a long time. She told me this was the one for us even though it has a little higher milage then I wanted and the driver's bottom seat is worn. After a little research here on mud I figured out we could do a recondition of the leather and there are numerous service records. which helped me feel more comfortable with the milage.

Here are the particulars:

-$15,000 even
-'01 Land Cruiser (most importantly especially for my wife) River Rock Green Mica.
-108,908 miles
-One owner from central Cali (The lady took excellent care of this truck. Both mechanically and cosmetically. Plus she was super nice. Thanks Terri!)
-No Nav system
-3rd row seats still in factory plastic. Original factory sticker, pamphlet, manuals, and warranty books.
-Lots and lots of maintenance and service receipts.

I have owned Three 40s and still own a "77 and now we have a 100. I knew these 100 series Cruisers were nice but after a 600 mile drive home yesterday, after picking it up, I am really impressed. These things are nice! Real nice! It felt more like it has 9k on it not 109k.

It is due for a new set of tires but will probably remain mostly stock(at least for now) as this will be my wife's Cruiser and she likes the stock look. New tires will be BFG TKOs but I will take suggestions on size.

So my Cruiser addiction is now in full bloom. :)

Yea for the safe family tank! Looks nice.

And neat not to have the Nav system as a potential issue (in 25 years... :))

Take a look at Toyo AT2s before committing to BFGs. My wife has DD'd a 1997 80 and now a 1999 100 for the last 14 years. We ran BFGs for all but the last 6 months...switched to Toyos after extensive research on here.

ESPECIALLY for DD duties, you won't regret it!!

Great find. Congrat!! :) gotta get one some days!!

Either 285 or 295/75/16s would do well tucked underneath those wheel wells.

Looks like you got a nice LC - congrats!

Thanks everyone. We are loving it.
If I put 285s on it, can I still put chains on for snow if needed?

Ever driven a Land Cruiser with chains on all four wheels? You would think it's an M1 tank. But it's not. Tried it and good gosh almighty it unbelievable.

If you are remaining mostly stock, then stay with the factory tire size. Also the Michelin ltx AT2, are far superior to bfg or toyo. They are underpasses on the road and handle gravel and off road well also.

Yahoo! I just bought one today as well: 1999 River Rock with 127k miles, California car, from the original owner with all service records and scheduled maintenance done, price $11k.
Has some color fade on the hood so I'll repaint it.
Selling my 80 back to the PO who's dying to get it back lol!
On to the next generation LC! Excited for the ride... in the 100 forum now with y'all... Woot Woot!

Congrats on the LC!
I just got back from the Outer Banks using the 100 long distance for the very first time since I got it.
I AVG'd 18.5mpg (according to ScanGauge, backed up with pump calculations)

Rode so much better than a 80 for the family and kids sake.

So as I mentioned shortly after getting the 100, it needs new tires. I'm 99% sure they will be the BFG KO2s. I am leaning towards the 285/75R16s. I am thinking I will be either batting some 1 inch lift springs or some spring spacers for the rear and cranking/ re-indexing (same thing right?)the torsion bars in the front. I know I don't need to do it to clear the tires but I would like it to sit a little higher any way.

My question here would be about power loss and gearing issues. I pull a small speed boat and a 17' camp trailer(not at the same time) quite a bit. I am concerned that the larger tires will be bad for the towing ability. Those of you with the 285s, could you post up what the difference is like or if you notice much?

Thanks

I've run 285's basically since I bought my 100. I really don't feel the difference, but I don't tow either. I recently drove a buddy's stock 2000 and I forgot he was on tiny shoes as soon as we were moving. There was no "wow this has so much more power" moment.

Thanks yotasavg. Helps to have some first-hand input. Anyone done much towing with 285s?
