Over the weekend, I picked up our new 2004 Land Cruiser. I'm stoked, the truck is great!

It was a long quest getting from merely considering a 60 or 80 series for myself to ending up with a brand new 100 series that will mainly be my wife's. The ih8mud boards were a great resource in the process. Thanks for all the advice (even though, due to 100's getting their own board, most of the people who gave me the advice won't even see this message).

Great! Color? Options? Post a pic or two. Congrats!

I understand how that works, that's how we got a new 350Z :). Sounds like we are both PW. Just curious, what did that baby cost??? Congrats

Garth: I think the color is called "Thundercloud." It's the light gray. It's "options" are the 18" wheels, nav, running boards, etc. That said, those things weren't really options. Every vehicle I could find came equipped in almost the exact same manner. In fact, I really wanted to find 17" wheels but none seem to come from the factory that way.

Pitbull: I got the car for $1,000 over invoice price. It seems like a good deal for around here. I was ready to buy the car from a dealer that is two blocks from my office (for $1,500 over), but right before I went over to pick it up I called another dealer (who was farther away) who agreed to get me one for $1,000 over. The first dealer wouldn't match the second dealer's price. The second dealer, however, didn't have the color we wanted in stock so he had to trade for it. The funny thing is, he ended up getting it from the original dealer (the VIN's match). Thus, I ended up driving a few miles, but I got the EXACT same car for $500 less (and the original dealer didn't get the sale).

 Congrats on the sweet ride!

congrats! we're really happy with our 03. Just too nice to take out in the boonies much yet, although it survived some high speed runs in Baja desert...
You'll love it. And I surprised myself by liking the Nav sys a lot.

add: oh yes, the too nice bit is easily remedied by an extra 80 or 2....

Sweet!! And good work getting the two dealers to fight for your business!

I'm kinda afraid to look at a 100-series, even a '98-'99-ish, since I KNOW they are really nice and am afraid I'd end up in a huge quandry...since I have a nicely built 80, which I'm not about to part with.

Post some pics if you can, sure it's brand new and stock, but still fun to look at (Toyota quality baby!!)...and gives us 'dreamers' something to look at.. :D

Congrats!
