Well got out for a ride, not as much snow as I wanted. Tires performed great, no rubbing even when I tried crossing ruts at off angles. Icy rutted main road no problems even in 2wd. Found a logging road nobody tried yet, and in 4 lo chewed my way through with the dif dragging in the snow. I am happy with the ride on the hwy 2300 rpms gets me to 65 as gps reports. The ride up the pass was slow as expected 4th gear getting down to about 45 at the top. Also found a Dodge dakota you could get cheap

Looks great.

Any chance of a photos from the side? I'd just like to see where it would rub first.

This should give you an idea:
This first pic is at an odd angle looking down...

Cheers,

Thanks for the additional pics bsndfj60. It really looks great.

I already ordered my 33" tires.

I wonder if getting springs (Alcan) with the pin oved back an inch on the fronts would be a good idea. It would give a little more clearance at the front when I am flexed up.

Andrew

for refrence this is 24 10/50 swampers on stock fj62 no lift. not shore on rims came with the tires off a 4runner.

SUA Lift, the OME's are nice, Dakar are comparable. 33's make up for a lack of 5th gear as well.

I figured my mileage multiplier was 1.15, with BFG 33's, any different opinions?
(For 100 miles on the odo. I actually travelled 115)

I've checked an rechecked on my 60 a bunch of times...1.15 is a good multiplier.

Are you suggesting that the 33x9.5 will or will not rub the inside wheel wells?

Said it before...short tutorial based on my personal experience:
1. Rides much better, tall, soft sidewall
2. 2nd day: ruin one tire by taking something I never even saw/found in the sidewall, on the street!
3. 150 bucks later, back on the road
4. Not alot of stability in turns, see tall, soft sidewall above
5. These do not air down well for sand, see tall, soft sidewall above
6. Ditch 9.50's for 33x12.50s and a lift kit after two weeks of the above

This is just my experience, lots of guys disagree with me, they definitely make your truck ride better at the expense of loss of cornering ability. Not an issue offroad, but a tire this narrow on stock rims aired down is runnign more sidewall than tread on the ground. Mine were BFG's, just wasn't what I needed for all the dune running around here. I loved em on the street, except for the cornering.
