Rig has Rock Rails on it from PO. I’m putting custom sliders on it. I can weld but I think welding patches over the pinch weld holes might be overkill especially since I’m not worried that it look 100% OEM down there. Plus, I'm just adding more metal for water to get behind if I don't seal up the patches perfectly. I was thinking about running POR Seam Sealer in the holes with a bolt and nut snugged up and seal over those as well. Prime and paint the inside and outside of the pinch weld. I've used it before on other rigs for similar repairs and it holds up like concrete. Thoughts? The holes are not rusted. Everything is still in nice shape. Thanks.

I'd vote for seam sealer and a screw.

Welding will create heat and will burn off more paint and cause other issues.

Good point on the welding.

I agree. I use vulkem for a lot of different stuff. Good to keep around the house.
