What about the mirrors in the second picture on the blue 60. Those aren't US stock 60 or 62 mirrrors.

how deep of water can a bj-60 go into?

Some how this entered the same question twice. I just also was curios, does the tranny, diff need to be drained after going in water that deep? Im sure the suspention needs to be lubricated.

haryv,

They probably have water inside the cab. I wouldnt want to be that deep, but thats just me. Would have to have a snorkle at that depth.

Breathers on diffs would have to be extended. I dunno about tranny issues.

I crossed a river on my way to Punta Islita in Costa Rica in my 62 without a snorkle that was that deep. No water came in the truck, but it did start to float downstream. I had a bow wave, which if it broke, would have spelled disaster. I later crossed another four or five rivers of the same depth and on one occassion, water was lapping against the drivers window. I must have nice door seals. I would recommend sealing the distributor, long before a snorkle. I diesel Montero followed me and got stuck. My warn 8000 made quick work of the recovery and I now have several lifelong Costa Rican friends.
