One of my factory fender garnishments is beginning to come loose (rear driver). I know they are just "taped" on a long with a couple of screws in the wheel well. My questions are what "tape" should be used? I'd assume something like 3M VHB or trim tape. Also, where should the tape be placed? It seems the garnishment is concave on the back and none of the VHB/trim tapes I have used would be deep enough from what I can tell. I'm hesitant to remove them because the vehicle has been re-sprayed and it appears they left the garnishments and rubber paint protectors on and just sprayed over it all. I'm sure it would be very noticeable if they were removed. Is there a good aftermarket flare (smooth, I don't like the pocket style) available?
