Does any one know where I can get fender flares that will cover a 10 inch wide wheel (flares extending about 1-2 inches from the body similar to the picture below) for an LX470? I have been looking for them for awhile and got recommended to ask for help here, it will be greatly appreciated.

Send a PM to mot, he could probably get something, bling bling.

Yikes.

There's a guy on the 80's forum that is really into that type of upgrade. He goes by LXTREME. (I think that's how you spell it) He has posted here before and has lots of knowledge on the bling parts. You might try pm'ing him.

Yes, PM Mot. You'll have to have those sent in from Japan. Be prepared to pay of the arse for a set.

Live in Boston, after many years of ordering over the phone I was finally in Spector Off Road neighborhood last winter. Drove the rental over and wished for a fat bank account. They are still not on top of the 100 series yet. The only thing I could find that I didn't need was a set of flares. I dropped $300 or so and them shipped to Boston. They are still in the box in the basement. The cruiser and I are stuck in Atlanta for a few more weeks. Hopefully I'll get to summer at home in Boston and see how they fit. Pictures will be forth coming.

I figure if they suck big time some goof off will remove the glue adhesive.

Is this close enough (identical?) to what you are looking for?

These things (fender flares) are expensive in Japan.
Some of them are available (much) cheaper in auctions though.

These probably will not turn out good, but here is what's available here:

NY,

They want about $800US for unpainted set and over $1000US for the painted flares.
That does not include shipping (and $$$$$$ for my time, either);)

If those prices don't scare you off you can go ahead and PM me. I can see if they are willing to ship them direct just to save a few $$ on shipping to my place first.

But when I had a shop send flares directly to Europe last year there was a slight damage to them. I usually prefer items to come to me first so I can add any reinforcements or put them in a different box, etc... to maximize their chance of safe arrival.

Or I can give you their fax/phone number and see if you can contact them direct to make it happen.

Let me know if I can help you though!

Yep, those are the prices I've seen in ads in LC magazine...about 85,000 yen for primed, or 110,000 yen for JDM pearl white or black. So figure $1K plus painting. What I've found with JDM stuff is, you can get it and it's probably made (never seen 100 series R&P's but have seen lower t-case gears), but it'll cost ya dearly.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I do believe I will be PM Mot soon to discuss the purchase of these fender flares, you all have been extermely helpful.

A few up-close shots:
How can I get more photos and info about these flares?? I'm speaking about the off road flares.
Questions:
- How large a tire can it handle?
- How much offset on he wheels?
- Do you remove the splash plastic inside the fenders?
- Do you trim the fenders?
- Can you stuff the tires up into the flares? Or are they only for width?

Also, what kind o lift do these LC's have? They look higher than the 2.5" from Slee and the tire size looks larger than 35".

LJ_24, I think you've lost your title.

I was thinking the same exact thing, finally not the one whos gna be mentioned everytime flares come up:grinpimp:
