Having trouble with the drivers front fender fitting. With the fender as low as possible on the frame bolts it's still too high. It was perfect before I pulled it apart. I didn't replace the fenders but I did install new body mounts from CCOT. All l can figure is the body is tighter to the frame causing the fender to be proud. So now what? Hog out the fender mounting holes or shim up the body? pics to follow

I would try loosening the body bolts enough to see if everything aligns. I used new poly body mounts, and the fenders lined up perfectly

On the arms that come out towards the front of your running boards, did you put one mount, or a mount and the 3/8" or so spacer?

This is the long arm that is riveted to the frame and has the running board mount bolted to it with 4 bolts.

Try what NEVINSJ said. I had the same problem when I was working on mine about three weeks ago. I put on new body mounts and I had the problem with both front fenders. I backed off the bolts on the body mounts and the fenders fit fine now. I had my body mount bolts severely over tightened.

Haven't gone out to the barn to loosen up the mounts yet but here are the pics from last night

Tried loosening the body mounts but little to no change. I'm thinking of putting some washers under the body mounts to raise the height of the tub about a 1/4 inch.

I put a thick fender washer between the frame and the body mount and things are lining up much better. All of this is adding up in my head and concerning me.
1) Front left spindle was an after market offset that few on this board had ever seen before.
2) front left lower shock mount has been replaced with a different stud which has a US standard thread pitch.
3) Now the tub seems to be off at the left front.

Hope the alignment isn't going be a nightmare :bang:

Are we talking about the pad that goes under the running board between the running board support and the running board? Or are we talking about a spacer that goes between the frame and the body mount?

This is where I put the shim. I don't recall their being one there before. I don't have the old ones to compare.

After a few hard wheeling trips it will settle in:grinpimp::cheers::beer:

Nice rig! I might have a simple solution that might seem a little too simple. I just put my front metal work together after doing my re-build. I had trouble lining the bib and the body lines at the top so I bolted one side (at the top) loosely and went to the opposite end and used an alignment tool (fat screwdriver will work), and bolted that up once it was lined perfectly. Then went back to the original side, used the alignment tool at the bottom hole, wrangled with it and once I was happy with the alighment, I torqued down the top bolt. Hope this works.

Well that explains things. I looked on SOR for that spacer but didn't see one. I did order the #35 shim for under the bib hinge so that should help. I'll go measure my height like D'Animal suggests and see what i have around the barn. Wish I hadn't chucked my old body mount out.

That body mount kit you've got there looks very similar to the ones I've installed on two cruisers here. Both of the kits I recieved came with two slightly larger body mounts. Any chance they got put in the wrong locations?
