Looks good - the spacer is a bitch to getinto place and bolt up...... I've just ordered a sheet of starboard and am going to fit that over the bulk of the panle to try to minimize the rattle and seal it up a bit better - it also will give me a good mounting point for a larger access door and perhaps an inverter

Will have pics this weekend.

Agree that it's not perfect but far better then any other option so far - at least for that location.

For those who haven't taken the plunge I'd suggest keeping the amp under one seat or the other to make it simpler.....I went 5 channel and the 500 watts dedidcated to the Sub are WAyyyyy more then enough.

cheers.

Shane,

I think it would be a good idea to start a list of compatible Subs and Amps. I just bout a Pioneer TS-SW251 which should fit, and am now on the lookout for a small amp to fit.

Anyone put an amp in that space under the sub yet?

Thanks.

Well I can tell you that the pioneer TS-SW2502S4 does not fit, I purchased and returned that one already. The website says 9.25 but the box says 9.75, go figure. I ended up biting the bullet and bought the Alpine SWR-T10 which fits fine. Don't plan on mounting the alpine without a box of some sort though. I tried and it was just about silent, I had to custom build one to fit but it does sound great! I had to stuff a sheet of high density foam behind the box to get rid of some serious rattle. The seatbelt still rattles but not too bad. Honestly I haven't even put the body panel on yet either so that could be another issue as well. Not a ton of low end boom because the box is about 1/3 of the recommended volume, but it's quite punchy:) hooked it up to a alpine PDX-V9 under the drivers seat pushing the sub with 500 watts.

Super juice, which one was didn't when installed free air? Pioneer or the alpine?

I never tried the Pioneer. The Alpine just rattled when mounted up, there wasn't any tone to it.

So, the TS-SW251 "fits". The backspace is good, however the screw holes don't line up as this one only has 6 screws not 8. No biggie, I'll have to drill some holes. Other issue is that the factory covery does not fit on well, it fits, but not well. I'll have to take a dremel to the back of the panel cover to see if I can make it fit better. I think I have found an amp for the space now too, waiting to see if I can get it.

I used a Kenwood Excelon KAC 700. Amp. 40 watt for fronts. - 500 for the sub
Plenty of power all the way around I'm finding
Easily fits under drivers seat or passenger if you can remove the rear heat ( living in tx I could...)

I'm very interested in this set up. I have a sub enclosure and it is a pain. Do you put the outer trim panel back on with the original little speaker cover? Seems like it would mess up the sound? Thanks for the help, I'm pretty green on stereos

Shane, when do you plan a next run of the mounts?

Also, what bolts into these two locations?

Top left bolt hole in your pic is where the bracket for a cargo cover screws in.

I've got a lightly used one plus sub and grille if anyone is interested It's a great setup and sounded amazing but I need to use that space for more storage I've decided. My 6 1/2 RF components give enough base until I can come up with another solution

Has anyone been able to re-attach the plastic trim over the speaker? My speaker protrudes about 3/4" too far out to put the trim on. I have put rubber behind my box and that may have pushed the speaker outward.
