I'm thinking about changing my tires to this tire but don't have any direct feedback or know anyone who has run them. I'm looking for a 35/10.5/16 tire for my FJ Cruiser and haven't found many options. I'm happy with my SS TrXus MT's but I'm hoping to go to a 35" tire but don't want the extra width of a 12.5" tire and all the issue to deal with on the FJ Cruiser with a relatively wide 35" tire.

And, if they are decent, think our sponsor can get SS tires for us at the discount?

Yep, and so far I love them. Mine are only 32" though. They are sorta loud on the road, but I can't imagine any more loud than the Trxus. I have heard others complain about the side walls being weak, but honestly...I don't notice that. I run about 18-20 pounds when I am aired down and they do just great. Have had them on the truck for about a year and a half on and off and so far, no issues. I do have to say that I am pleasantly surpirsed about the wear. I intended to take them off the truck when I wasn't off roading a lot, but got lazy and left them on a lot. They are wearing well.

The other thing I really like about them is that their not as squirrley on the road as the LTBs or other non-radial swampers.
 
What is wild bill running on his fj? I know he had two ....maybe three flats in the last cullowhee trip.
 
Thanks for the feedback Heather. I'm hoping to fit some 35's and the SS SSR's come in the size I'm hoping will fit with less issues than a 12.5" wide tire. I don't want to have to spend the money on aftermarket UCA's and/or wheel spacers.

I think that Bill is running SS LTB's and not the SSR's but I could be wrong...
 
I'm running LTB's. The flats were from extremely low air I believe.
I had picked up some bead mud at Gulches which I had never completely cleaned on all the tires. The one I had cleaned held. The two that had slow leaks leaked down during the day and when we hit a pretty gnarly section late in the day they broke loose and flattened. After I cleaned them while they were off the bead and reinflated they seemed all right.
I had about 1/2" clearance with the 34/10.50 LTBs. IF
 
If the SSR's are true 35s you'll need the frame trim, but you've already done that I believe.
How narrow can the 35 SSR's come?

You'll also be sitting on your bumper with your spare. Might want to check that. My tires don't give much clearance there.
If all that works you'll probably appreciate the radials, especially on rocks. The LTBs really clean good though and dig mud banks quite well.
 
SS offers the SSR's in a 35X10.5X16. I'm not too worried about the rear bumper since I have one of the Demello rear bumpers on order, whenever Jason finds the time to finish them, but that's another story. I have NOT done the body mount trim yet but that will be part of the plan...
 
Hey Coach, are you planning on regearing? Have you got an early model build? I'd be worried about the extra stress on the diffs with 35's. I'd love to put 35's on Dig-Dug, but not until I regear (at a much later date, I think). The 34's are pushing it for my comfort zone and I'm trying to keep my trail manners in that mindset.

And Heather's right, the LTBs are pretty squirrely on the road. I only put them on when I'm headed to the trails.

Rick - actually, I am thinking about re-gearing due to all the issues and since I have an "early build" (03/06) also. I would rather take a pro-active approach than have a problem and have to deal with the non-compliant dealer.

This is part of the plan in that I would like to fit some 35's, re-gear, swap out my OME 885 for 886's and install the Demello rear bumper (whenever it gets done). I'm trying to plan my "winter project" in prep for having some free time next spring and summer. The OME 886's and bumper are already ordered, just trying to find the tires and gears for the rest...
