What: The Gulches (Metberry, Hackett, Longwater)
When: Saturday, February 16th, 2019
Where: meet at Alta (formerly Western) convenience store on US 24 in Crystola (south of Woodland Park)

Meet between 8:00am and 8:30am
Depart the Alta store at 8:30am

Bring a lunch, we'll stop along the trail/river
Bring recovery gear/chains if you have them just in case.
Post up if you plan on coming

FYI, from word of mouth.... I think the gulches are still in rough shape. Might want to have a backup plan.

Think a stock truck on 33's will make any of them? It has ATRAC and recovery points. I'll grab some chains and a snatch strap before to be prepared.

From what I've heard, most groups didn't make it very far and had to turn around. Snow drifts up to a few feet with packed snow and ice under it. Your vehicle would generally do well enough in normal conditions. With these though, it's tough to say. Definitely bring your gear.

Like I said, this is all word of mouth as well as the last report I heard of was from last week. Conditions could be better by now. Wont know until you get out there!

Pics? Trail report for those of us that couldn’t make it?

7 vehicles participated. Roads were icy in a few spots, some snowpack but mostly dry. Sam led the way, Thanks Sam. After Metberry a few went on to Hackett Gulch.

The videos of the large rock are too large to post. Does anyone mind me putting them on Facebook under the event post?

Once posted please link them back here if possible. I don't do FB.
