Well Ole Stage was a great choice. Turned out it was Zac's Dad's birthday at the hatch cover. So our trip ended with some pool.

A quick review of the day. We had 5 rigs that met at the Coyote Den in Penrose. Next stop was gas at the Loves. We headed up Shelf road and enjoyed the views and a couple of patches of snow on the road. After parking in Cripple Creek we walked main street and enjoyed the sunshine as we took in the ice carvings and were forced to decide upon what to eat for lunch from the nice variety of food vendors. I think that we saw everything that was available on Main street and traveled up to the mine overlook to see how much bigger the mine grew since that last time that we visited. Next was driving down Phantom canyon which held more snow than I expected. On the way home two rigs drove up to Penrose Common and drove over to the Independence trail system. Wow! That is one set of trails that I am never going to take my truck on. We drove a;; of the trails that were open to trucks. I noticed that a couple of trails have changed designations and are now open to only 50 inch or narrower. Sundown happened to quickly and airing up was a dark event..
