Meet at the Safeway on Nevada ( 1920 S. Nevada Ave. ) at 8:00 am. Leave about 8:30. We will travel down 115 to Penrose to meet up with the rest of the group in the back parking lot of Coyote Coffee Den ( Coyote Coffee Cafe - https://www.coyotecoffeecafe.com/ ) arrive at 9:00 leave at 9:15 and then drive Shelf Road to view the Ice Carving Festival in Cripple Creek , eat lunch from street vendors (or bring you own) . Drive Phantom Canyon Road South to Canon City. Optional is to then drive in the Banks, Penrose Common etc. as time and motivation permits. The location and date is set to allow the group to spend time at the middle of the day in Cripple Creek and see the Ice Carving Competition.

Remember to bring a GMRS radio (we use channel 15-0), recovery gear, winter clothes, tire chains, coffee and snack or lunch.

I'm a big ole maybe for this one. I want to repeat last year's camping trip down there but the 100 is getting a new timing belt the weekend before and the kid has ice skating on Saturday morning, so lots of moving parts.

I'll confirm or bail right before the ride =P

I'm looking forward to this trip.

Yall have fun - I think I just have too much going on to make it this ride, unfortunately! Hoping to make it to a few more this year than I managed last year!

I'll be meeting the group at Coyotes. Will we be making a fuel stop after Coyotes?
We don’t usually make a fuel stop after coyotes. But we can make a fuel stop if needed or desired. The most convenient place would be the Loves that’s between coyotes and Canon City on US50.

I just need to know if we are so i don't waste time filling up beforehand, just to go sit at a gas station again 2 minutes after we depart.

I would fill up before hand. I’ve never known us to stop in route.

I might make it.
It's either go to cripple creek tonight to get my new shocks or stay home tomorrow waiting for them to be driven from CC to the Springs.

Im in. Do we need chainsaws for the ice carving?

Gas is cheaper at the Loves just before Canon City than in COS. I'll meet you at the Coyote.
