When we scheduled this run we were hoping for a "snow run". Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not cooperate... However, the good news (especially in light of the recent fires!) is that the Big Bear area is still there, and (so far, knock on wood!) unscathed!

We will meet in Fawnskin, at the Fire Station, 39188 Rim of the World Drive, at 9:00 AM, on Saturday, February 22nd. I plan to start our day by running our newly adopted trails 3N12C and 2N09A. Both of these are easy (both OnXOffroad & Trails Offroad rate them a "2" on a 10 scale), but very scenic, forest trails. We should be done well in time for lunch on the trail.

Depending on how many rigs, and rig/driver capability, we can do another trail in the area that is a little more challenging. Right now, I'm thinking White Mountain (3N17). Trails Offroad says, "Providing legendary views of the High Desert, White Mountain is a lightly traveled yet prominent trail within the Big Bear Lake area. Perched at nearly 7,800 feet above sea level, the views from this ridge-running trail are awe-inspiring. While traveling the northern mountain range spine, users are rewarded with views of Johnson Valley, Lucerne Valley, Cougar Buttes, Apple Valley, Barstow, Mojave Road, and even Calico off in the distance." OnXOffroad & Trails Offroad rate this trail a "4" on a 10 scale. Again, depending on who & how many, we can either look for something either a little easier or a little more challenging to fill the afternoon, and round out the day.

If you're planning to attend this day run, will you please post on this thread, so that I can have an idea of whom i should expect? Hope to see as many of you as possible!

I plan on being there and bringing a +1 (in separate rig). Going to make a long weekend of it.

Hi, Would it be OK for a newcomer to join this event? I've been aware of the SoCal LC club and have been meaning to join one of your events for a while now! I might join with my wife and our dog if that's OK. Here's a picture of my 200 series from a recent trip.
Cheers
