So here goes month number two. As I may have mentioned, some of us are looking for a camp out, show off our camping gear and basically sit around and shoot the breeze. Now I know that's why we have our monthly Sonic meet but this time we don't have to eat a crappy pizza or choke down a Sonic chicken wrap and we get to sit around........fire.

Starting point could depend on a couple of different runs Saturday but for people who have family events, chores or just like to start late we are posting the camping destination, you can show up wheneverat the camp site. Phil and I looked at the site last month and it should handle more than a dozen trucks and tents with ease. Water is in the creek and there seems to be something for everyone to enjoy even if they leave after dinner on Saturday to go home and sleep in their own bed like a regular run.

Thinking Saturday February 25 to 26

[Elevation]2850' at the Coon Creek camp ground

115 miles from Shea & 101
Same distance via hwy 87 or hwy 60
Camp location is 11 miles from the Rock house store

GPS cords
N 33° 42.045
W 110° 50.597

Post up if you are interested, we will plan accordingly. Hope to see a few familiar faces along with some new ones just like last month.

Welcome to the never-ending road of mods. There might be a couple (dozen) more things you'll find you 'need' to hang with the (mostly imaginary) 'big dogs'.

I'm game was planning on doing a snow run up to CK but if my buddy can't go me and the gf will be there

Sarah and I are interested. Looking forward to camping out.

I'm down to make the run but I am out for overnight.

I am a firm maybe. But seems a bit early in the year for camping at even 3000'. "It's cold in them thar hills!"

You could always just stay for the fireside chat and pass the talking stick, drive home in time for bed.

A big roaring fire and Phils Margarita blender made for good company at the CSC Fossil Creek campout a couple years ago.

...mix that in with lively conversation and a late night helping of Brittan Smith's dutch oven cobbler~

Good stuff :D

Is this trail 'tent trailer' friendly? Not $12,000 Safari Tent Trailer but standard pop up tent trailer with 13" wheels trail friendly. I'm in with or without the pop up however I'm not too bedroll on a cot friendly and I sleep a lot better on a nice bed that the pop up offers me.
As I said, I'm in one way of the other.

No problem at all...come to think about it that is a good idea. There just might be two pop-ups now:D

We might want to think about going up on Friday to get the good spots:grinpimp:
