Ya, I helped Whipp with that a little (unfortunately).....glad he had them on there though.....that's what they're for. Does he have any lift at all or is that stock height with stock size tires?

Sean,

I was sliding into that rock before you gave me guidance, no worries, that is what they're for. My last 4wd was a Suzuki with a 1.6L engine and manual transmission with a 1:1.8 ratio transfercase. I'm still getting used to the LC with its torquey 4.5L engine, slush box and 1:2.488 (?) transfercase. The only modifications to my LC are the sliders, slightly oversized tires, and the center diff switch w/ pin 7 mod.

Great trip, thanks for leading and giving us a tour of the area.

Thanks Jessa for sharing the photo's. I enjoyed the run and so did Porter.

You shoulda seen Ray in the FJ40 come down.....man, that got my heart goin'. :) There's actually steeper (but minus the ruts) ways to come down....but that way is the most exciting. ;)

Yep the way to the right in this pic is steeper, but less challenge, fun.:D I like to go up where the Taco is then turn left and descend off the far end out of the picture.

Boy, Kevin, that really doesn't do justice to how steep that hill is...

When you're at the top, its just a big drop off.

BTW, we still need to do s skills day. I can think of a few spots out there to work with:idea:

Yep, pix always make cliffs look flat.

I will get with the Trail Team and see if their willing to share some knowlage with us, plus we need to beat their junk more!

For a location, I think that somewhere like the Coves would be better? Shorter dirt drive, people could come and go during the day, etc?

D'you mean the Toyota Trail Team with the FJCs? I thought I read that this year they were going to do less "trails" and more events like cookouts and stuff.

Any idea if that's the case?

My understanding is that they will be doing more "event" type stuff, but will still be doing trails. As hard as it is to believe we have a pretty good rep with them and will bet we can get them to stop by at least once this year. :D

Can we barbeque in the QT parking lot and call it an event:confused:

I am thinking more along the lines of, hitting the trail with them, they can BBQ us lunch and call it what ever they want!:D

I think I got my pump problem solved.....

Anyone want to run Lower Ajax this weekend?

Sean

I can't maybe, warrants a fresh tread...

Hey guys....

Since you went out Box.....

What do you think is shorter: Going to Martinez via Cottonwood Canyon or coming in off of Price Road?

Looking at the map it looks pretty close to equal.....maybe shorter distance wise coming in from Cottonwood Canyon. Is the road smoother/easier/faster to travel coming in from Price?

Just curious as to what's the best way for the long drive back to Martinez in the future.

Thanks,
Sean

Price road is hateful - long and dusty as the main road home from CK. Not as scenic either. For my money go in at CC - JMO tho...
