PS...

I like your sliders, where did you find em ?

Oh.... BTW... There is NO such thing as a lousy sunset pic !!

It looks like you are well on your way to Cruiser Heaven.. keep up the great work !!

Terrific feature Travis, I think you and your 100 were made for each other, but
just remember that addictions can be very expensive ;)

I`m looking forward to seeing your future mods !

Haha...thanks for the encouragement. I figure another 2 grand and I should be done...oh wait, I forgot about the ARB front locker and Slee rear bumper that I wanted, better make that $4500. I see, said the blind man. I better just change my handle to Grasshopper.

I found the sliders in the scrap pile at a metal fab shop in Homestead, FL. https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=176263&highlight=sliders

Nice write up. Cutting the grass in the Everglades was quite an adventure. We have more water than rocks down here, but the LC100 (with a slight lift) didn't bog down at all. The Traction Control makes me very nervous as it feels like the engine is dying, but it (and Toyota) are smarter than me and my old school, tire spinning ways.

Look foward to getting back out there Travis.

great writeup (and fast too :))!

Great write-up and nice rig. Thanks for stepping up to keep the thread going!

I also have a '99...however your seat back pockets are much nicer. Mine are the goofy netting material that snags...weird two '99's with different looking front seats!

Great rig! Great place! Great local fish - Snook, of course!

I agreed with Spressomon about the net back pockets which is driving me nuts, yours is better version, standard or not.

Cheers,

THE KEYS! YER LUCKY!

My brother-in-law lives on Big Pine Key along a canal. He winches his boat into it, then picks his direction. One way = ocean and the other way = gulf

LUV THE KEYS! Enjoy your truck and watch out for those Key dear! (And the bugs)

Oh yea, it is a great place to live. No stop lights, you can get anywhere by boat, foot, bike, car, seaplane. Seasonal economy is tricky, but manageable so far.

Yea...snook sounds good, I think I'll go get some for dinner. I have learned not to order fish when I am out of town and not to order steak when I am in town.

It does take a while to get anywhere though, ~9 hours to the state line. Good thing I got the 100.

From what I hear, that is a great place for a brother-in-law. (On the other side of the country.)

I can miss the Key Dear without a problem, it's the drunk tourists from Miami making the drive down to Fantasy Fest that have run me off the road twice this week!

Cool Nice Rig what about the rear bumper :)

That's further down on the list, but I'll probably drag the tupperware one off before I replace it. I like the factory hitch also since I do a lot of towing.

Thanks for the write up! I'll get there one day.

I know you said you haul lots of heavy paper but how does the heavy lift work out when not loaded? Does it still handle well?

Yea it takes a while, but I don't see a bit of deterioration anywhere on the vehicle at nearly 170,000 miles. On my weekly route, I open and close the doors over 200 times. That is 10,400 times a year, not including non-business use. I haven't even replaced the gas lifts on the rear hatch yet! You may loose a little value here and there, but the engineering on these things is here to stay.

The heavy kit was an improvement all around IMHO. It handles like a beemer, loaded or unloaded. It may be a little bumpier in the back unloaded, but I like to feel the road a little more than most so I hardly notice. I still prefer to drive unloaded. If you are real particular about a car like ride, (IE Road Force Balancing, yearly alignments and constant tire rotations) you may want to go with the softer springs in the back and just crank on the stock bars a little in front.

Stated simply, pre-lift it handled like a van and rode like a car. Post-lift, it handles like a car and rides like a truck.

Nice buildup and very nice truck. I like your water storage and pump.

BTW, the (lousy) photo in my avtar is from a recent trip to south Florida where we found a killer attack chicken (which is standing on the ground in the lower right of the photo). Watch out for those in the Keys. They are trouble. You are living in paradise, my friend.

OK...I guess I have to quite whining about not living out west close to the real trails. I should be able to make a run out there next year in the hundy...hope to see you all there.

You are correct...the chickens are nuts down here. Frequently, I slow down when I am in Key West so I don't run over them. You ever go to Blue Heaven?

Nice hundy for sure!!! See ya on the trail soon...

Thanks Jason. Soon...how about the pits on the Tenth? I have to take some South Florida cruiserheads with me to the North Florida cruiserhead trail ride so we are a little better represented this time!

That reminds me...if anyone is passing through Islamorada shoot me a PM so I can meet you for a beer or something. I am not far from US1...hell, nobody down here is.
