Truck is going on eBay. If it doesn’t sell there then you can bid on it on bringatrailer.

It is amazing how much hate this post received by being priced $2k over market. I’m not sure how many more times I would have had to say “I’m willing to negotiate” but I’m not willing to stick around and find out.

I’m also amazed that the mods allow fools to jump into a for sale thread that follows all of the rules and bombard it with negative comments about the price.

Mods: please delete thread.

Again- I am disappointed to see how negative this community got over a couple of grand. It’s one of the nicest 100s I have seen posted here in a while and I wasn’t all that serious about selling it when I decided on the price.

You weren't posting a "for sale" thread - you posted a "I'm kinda sorta maybe, possibly, what do you think, should I, maybe I will, maybe I won't" thread. You said you weren't serious yesterday morning. Now you're listing it on eBay and BAT. The seriousness escalated quickly.

I don't think anyone disagrees that it's a great looking truck. "One of the nicest" with dents in the hood from hail is one of those things that I'll debate you on. That was my biggest point with your price. If you're going to ask that much - make sure it's at 100%, that you're providing records dating way back, make sure you're providing pictures, VIN, etc. Because if you're going to get top dollar from me - me only, it's got to be in tip-top shape, and have proof to back that up. I think others probably feel similarly.

I wasn’t being negative when I said let market decide, just realistic. You posted that you paid 25k for it. I can appreciate you put some into it, but you likely paid fair value. Listing it here for 6k more just comes off as overpriced. Would you have paid 31k just the short time ago? Another red flag for me is that the prior owner cared more for the bling bolted on than doing critical TB/WP.
I wish you the best with the sale, if you are patient you may get close to your ask. There are plenty it seems that pay whatever.

There are a handful (4-5) of minor hail dents on the hood. If that is a deal killer then I will just pay a couple hundred to the local pdr guy and get it addressed. Or take a couple hundred off of the price. Yes- i absolutely stand by my statement that this is a great example that stands up with the best of them.

Things escalated quickly because I had a deal in place this morning on a 996 turbo with 15k miles (at a mb dealership in KY outside of Cincinnati if anyone cares). I’ve since learned (as of 10 minutes ago) that the car was sold before I could get a DME report done on it. Last night I was just “testing the waters”. Things moved quicker than planned.

The friend that I bought it from has terminal brain cancer and has been fighting it for a couple of years. When I asked him why he never did it he said that he just forgot. I figured that i would cut him some slack. He owns 4 fj40s with one being a documented 16k example and a 2019 200. He is a true enthusiast.

Nobody expects to get their asking price. People are acting like this is some criminal misrepresentation of the truck when in reality I may have mispriced my initial ask by $2-3k. My goal was to end up at a price where I at least get the majority of my money back after the cost of maintenance.

This thread is an absolute s*** show. If I ever end up deciding to list it on this forum again then I will start fresh.
