So Rich and I were at the beach while the rest of the boys go off into the bush; and just as we say goodbye to the bikini babes, we hear a crack over the 2M radio.
"Get ready, we found the mutha!"
"You'll wanna have your video goin for this one"

Frankly, i was just hoping they weren't bleeding at this point...i mean, it's Taco Tuesday...and Charcuterie is on deck.

Varried, 50-60 as I recall.

Not something I can answer. I was blessed with being one of the NewB's that got to participate in the FAWKING EN FUEGO Epic Holy Level INFINITY Cubed nature of this trip.

And the story hasn't even reached the Infinity, let alone Cubed, status yet.

Is it cooler there than in Canyonlands at the same time of year? I want to go to Canyonlands next year but I can't go until this week and I am worried its getting too hot by Memorial Day.......

Looking at the weather in the surrounding areas, nightly lows this week are 60 by the lake and 65-70 in Moab. I'm guessing Canyonlands is in the same range.

Highs are 90-95 at the lake, 100-105 in Moab. We caught it at just he right time, highs were 75-85.

You can always head to the top of the Bears Ears @ 8400' if you need to cool off. It was chilly up there.

I'd lay decent odds that the view coming back from the creepy (seemingly deserted) houseboat commune looked something like:

It was indeed a commune. There were bikinis, but also the rest of the things that are in communes. They also had jet boats and jet skis, and played loud lake music at times.

...and they must have seen our fire last night and thought they were going to one-up us this Taco Tuesday night by building their own cute little fire.

And we let them think that for a little while.

wow this thread has gotten off track.....

So, after having a super epic, surface of the sun temperature fire, we awoke to breakfast and coffee and a beautiful day. We were prepping for the climb back out of the "cliff hanging" as my dad called it, shelf road.

Whoa, bro..that happens tomorrow!

We still haven't seen Firescapes by @jfz80's Level VI En Fuego inferno yet. Or those Holy Epic Jalapeño poppers & Tuesday Tacos.

I can't embed the video of you guys coming onto the beach carrying that huge ass log..so I'll just post this up here.
(not because i'm technically feeble, it's just that it's somewhat incriminating, and , well..you know...)

an axe showed up to the pre-fire planning committee meeting...
there was a quorum, we had a motion, and a second, and the plan was set in motion.

So the arsonists held a meeting and decided that the only way to make this log disappear by morning was to burn the whole thing at once. We did not have time to burn it in half first.

Plus, it was so long, we would have had to do that several times.

Seriously Paul, your making me hungry again here.

Thank god we had a semi-pro lumber jack with us..... Replete with broad shoulders and flannel shirt. Almost like it was meant to be. Steve2 put a whoopin' on that log.

So now no 20' wide fire but still a 20' safety zone for spectators. The chair ring radius the next morning around the melted sand was hilarious.

Someone produced an axe and the firescapers took a few swings, but @trout bum was not pleased with our progress.

"Do you even Lumberjack bro?" he said, before taking the axe and teaching a class on how to make one log turn into two.

Again, Jason stone-crafted a log stand, and this time built a starter fire the entire length of the log.

He took the honors with the blowtorch...
