At some point in the evening someone points out that one of my front tires is low. I go check it out and can find no obvious trauma. I get down closer and miraculously find the pinhole-sized hole in my brand new 315 
, with what looks like a piece of wood from one of these tree-bush things. Payback for burning so many of them, I guess.
I get my Autozone Overland-approved tire repair kit out and proceed to ream out and plug the hole. Steve1 loans me his air chuck (mine is leaking, the first of several air-related failures I will have), and we pump it up.
Crisis averted.

We are winding down for the night and the fire is still ROARING. Steve1 expresses his concern that we will still have a huge fire in the morning when it is time to pack up and move on from this paradise.
He pulls the logs apart, in the hope that they will snuff themselves out, and if they are still smoldering in the am, we can just roll them into the water to extinguish them.
This seemingly angered the wind gods, which started blowing with fury, giving way to a firework quality show of blowing sparks.
When I woke up in the morning, nothing remained of the two logs except a charred silhouette. Not even any coals.

I think his concerns manifested from our esteemed expo leader extroidinare and current RSO ( recreational safety officer) While I missed the safety meeting and had heard rumors of plans to roll the carcasses in the lake I simply thought mountNgoat wanted to up his arsonism skill by suggesting TWO fires

Does this process of chronologically recounting the daily highlights help with the comedown?
Just curious...I can't imagine the depression I'd be wallowing in having returned to the daily grind after this much epic.

This thread has really helped me. I haven't been able to focus at work since returning, so this thread has allowed me to focus my non-focus on something useful, the recounting of this trip, rather than the aimless but endless perusal of all the pics and video.

We are woken up the next morning to the sound of raindrops landing on our trucks. Or in the case of beno (sleeping in a topless truck) and trout bum (sleeping out in the open), the feeling of raindrops hitting their face.
We kind of need to get a move on, because we not only need to make it back up the shelf road that Alex's dad (and all of us, really) is concerned about, but we also have to get back out of the secret trail and back on to the main trail. And the rain could serously add to the difficulty in a few places.
Onur re-assembles his truck and everyone packs up. I skip the fancy coffee and bum some from Jason.
Andy is ready to go, so he and I head up the trail to see if we'll need to stack any rocks on the way back out.
We are just as surprised as Steve1 as we drive past him while he's taking his morning constitutional

I am no longer a virgin woods squatter. That was el primero dumpus interuptus for me. I thought I might be scarred for life but the Holy Epicness of the trip kinda just took it all away. I'm fine.
