I was a big fan of the BBQ pork and rice back in the day. The beef stew was always a winner too.

The junk that came in the cold weather MREs was always da bomb too:p

Whichever ones come with peanut butter and sugar, it makes a great dessert. Pour the sugar in the little bag of PB and eat it with your spoon.

Chicken and dumpling :bounce: the new ones have some new stuff in them but I have not had them yet. I still have a few left to eat before I get to them.

Warning!!! the shakes have salmonella Do not drink them!!

Is there an MRE portion that doesn't induce gas, cramping, and explosive diarrhea?

'Cause if there is, then that one would be my favorite.

Oh, and where are you guys getting MREs? My local surplus joint hasn't had them in years.

In all honesty I have never gotten sick or have had any type of bowel problem from an MRE. If anything they tighten you up a little.
I used to get cases from different units after i'd grade their biv area or something when I worked on Dix.
Lately my cousin gets them from units training on the navy base he works on when they pack up.
They are the bomb on hunting, fishing and camping trips.

honestly, the only part that I consistently like is the tabasco sauce. Otherwise, my emergency MRE's that are in the bugout bag will stay there until there is not another option.

+1. I was a Marine grunt who would eat those things all week long. "MRE s***s" have to be forced out.

The Jalapeño cheese is worth money! Mix that in with just about any main dish and it improves 97.345% instantly. I suggest slipping it in the heater with the main then squeeze in and mix.

yeah, it was always rumored that the gum contained a laxative. Basically MRE = quikcrete in my system..

The worst I had was fettucine alfredo and vegetables. That was horrible.

Awesome idea, never thought to warm the cheese up in the heater and add it to the meal. Especially the grilled beef patty. That actually sounds tasty dude.

the 'vegetarian' meals rank up there with the breakfast meals..

I agree, the vegetarian meals are always the last to be eaten or wind up cannibalized for all the combos, tater stix, deserts, ect. I think they add more stuff to them to boost up the calorie count.
