Hey Guys,

I need a huge favor from one of the San Diego Guys. I was down there this weekend looking for a 95-on 80. One in particular was super clean and nice.

Once i fired her up, there was a very annoying clicking sound. I took a closer look and the belts caught my attention. All 3 belts were aftermarket with ridges. From what i understand, the 80s original belts do not use ridged belts ?

One of the two upper belts didnt look like it was working smoothly, but my amateur mechanical skills were not enough to determine that.

Can someone please check this car out for me and let me know ?
If the only problem is the belt, im going to buy the car. All that needs to be done is the fire up the car and look at the belts.

I know its a lot to ask for but ill make it up somehow. I manage a high end upholstery supply shop in Los Angeles, so if anyone needs any supplies I can help(leather, vinyl, carpet, etc...)

By the way, dont mind the ridiculous amounts of armor all the owner used.

The location is in a new residential area just off the highway 56.

Heres the car listing on autotrader:

You dont care about lockers? You can most likely find one in the same condition with lockers for around that price. You may just have to look a little longer...

Ya, I do care about lockers, but i care more about the overall condition of the car mechanically and cosmetically. Offcoarse the price plays a HUGE role in this. I looked an

Once I figure out the what that noise is caused by, then I will start the negotiation process which might take a couple of weeks.

I am going to upgrage to 4.88, so when the diffs are open I can add ARB.

Depending on the type of wheeling you will do and the tire size you are going to run you may be better to go with ARBs. The factory lockers are fine for moderately hardcore wheeling with 35s but if you plan to go 37s or bigger and hardcore you would be better off with the ARBs. That would also eliminate the possibility of having to cut up your housing if you break an axle with the factory lockers.

What is the location? I will take a look at it and I have good enough skills to determine a lemon or not. I will even take my LC over and do a side by side.

I have the address at home, I will PM you with it when I get home tonight.

Thanks a million.
