Hey all, wondering about these two fault codes, Got them a 3 weeks ago before my move across the country, used a scan tool to clear them, drove about 3,000 miles, and they just came back on today. Not sure if this is the O2 sensors or the EGR valve, not sure where to start, could use some help. Thanks in advance! I have a 1997 Toyota Landcruiser 40th anniversary edition.

Ya, I have no drivability issues, Idle is perfect, perhaps its my O2's then? Run better? really? More MPG and such?

A clarification question, the article you sent me states at the top that the DTC must be on for the readiness check to complete but on pg 11 it states that the MIL needs to be off. So should I clear the codes or keep them there?

P0133 is related to the upstream O2 sensor output being slow. The connector is low in the rig, exposed to road grime, prone to corrosion, unplug it and check. If that is good, likely needs to be replaced. Best results have been had with a stealer part or DENSO 2344157.

P0401 indicates the temp in the EGR port is low, possibly caused by low flow. This can be a bunch of things, starting with the modulator, then VSV,,, etc. The easy to "fix" it is to unplug the EGR temp sender and replace with a 4.7K ohm resistor, then will never get a P0401 or P0402 code.
