So I’m building a Troopy to be used as a overland camper. My base is a HZJ75 whose previous life was as an ambulance. The build is coming along spectacularly. Only concern I have is that she looks amazing from the front, but from the back she looks like an overweight wrestler with very skinny legs.

Any ideas how I can add some trim to offset this look? I don’t want to lose the feeling of the narrower wheels (which already have spacers). We did a SOA lift which feels very stable and the height is adequate.

New steel Bumpers with front winch and jerrycan carrier will be added as well as a roof rack, and new LED light package which are not yet installed. I plan to build out interior plus a rooftop tent once the mods are completed.

Troopy looks great! I think bumpers will help a lot with the look. Maybe mud flaps, but some guys don't like 'em 'cause they get caught on rocks when wheeling.

And...it won't change the look much, but I think your spare tire carrier is upside down. :p

great looking build! i bet those big shoes work nicely in the sand with the pressure turned down. when i was a little tyke my family made 3 xmas trips down to ambergris back in the 70's. back when there were only two hotels, fido's and the gonzales house. amazing days. : )
