All,
I swapped engines between my '86 BJ70s. The 3B in the truck I normally drive developed a bottom end rod knock, so I swapped the 3B out of 'rusty project' BJ70 and into my daily driver. This was slightly complicated by the swapping over the ATX turbo between engines as part of the swap. Additionally as part of basic maintenance on the engine being swapped in, the governor diaphram was replaced (while it was fairly accessible I thought it was the prudent thing to do).

Today, I completed the swap and fired the replacement engine up. It started right up and was running great, but idle speed was steady at 1600 rpm. The previous owner of the truck installed the ATX so I don't have the installation instructions. Are there fuel settings and possibly governor adjustments that need to be made to a 3B engine when a ATX turbo is installed? Or could I have installed the governor diaphram incorrectly? (It is my understanding the a diaphram problem can lead to high idle)

Thanks for any help and sorry for the long winded story to get there.

Gi,
l gave installed a few AXT turbo kit(not ATX) and the only thing to adjust is to turn tge fuel screw up a little, and install 4 hoseclamps on the two hoses that go from the IP to the intake .
could be the disphram installed incorrectly.
Simon

Simon,
Thanks. I will re-check the diaphram and confirm other connections.
