Thanks for disqualifying my opinion
I have played in many rock gardens...
and on occasion...
sometimes have had to put the nose of my junk into a boulder...
just to make room, to back up and choose a new line.
So I don't think my point is moot at all

How does my truck and opinion disqualify your opinion? I only said the point is moot for my one truck, not all trucks, and certainly not your truck.

Relax dell, I dont think anyone was trying to discount your view or experiences. They just were relating their experiences and knowledge.

Excellent advise,Mace. But something tells me he stopped listening a long time ago :hhmm:.

Dell, just in case you are listening, try processing this. There's a perfectly sound reason the roller fairlead hangs out past everything else. Now it may sound sarcastic, but that's not the intent, believe me. Yes, it is designed that way, on purpose. Whether it works for you or anyone else there is a reason and it is this: Winches at one time were used for a purpose other than playing in the rocks. When it hangs off in front of everything else it is capable of feeding the cable unimpeded on extreme side pulls. This is mainly for expedition/overland use and was endured for everything else. But I agree with you, for almost anything besides winching, the roller fairlead obnoxiously hangs out and can easily get in the way of other activities.
