Sold my '00 LX last year, now looking to get back into a Cruiser again. At first, I was looking at '07 LX/LC, but lately I've been thinking that the increased power in the 200s would be very attractive. I'm worried about potential problems with 2008 considering since that's the first year, so have been thinking about '09s. I figured CPO would be unnecessary for something this new, as I can always buy extended warranty from Toyota.

Prices in the Northeast for '08s with 20-30k miles are $56-$58k, $62-$65k for '09s with 16-30k miles.

What's a fair price to pay for one? Seems like a lot of members have gotten up to $18k off sticker on their '08s, so the prices around me seem rather high.

Thanks for the help!

Hmm, I'm in Portland and have a 200 with about 30k, bet I could easily get 53-55. SUV's tend to sell a little bit higher than national average up here. Good luck finding one!

Ps. 08 is the first year in the US... 07 is the first year of the LC 200.

You have to factor in what was happening with the economy when most of these '08's were still sitting on the lots. Since then, things have changed a bit, at least in regards to supply - it was drastically reduced for 2009 models. I got ~$11k off of my '09 on October 2009 and I though that was pretty good. Inventory was pretty low in the Northwest at the time (and still is in fact). A lack of new inventory will keep the prices of used ones higher.

I would suggest trying to find a dealer that still has a "new" 2009 on their lot and see if they are willing to deal. I say "new" because most likely any 2009 leftover will likely be a dealer demo and have some miles on it. Although it will technically be new in the eyes of the warranty (I think you'll get 3 years from date of purchase or 36k miles over and above whatever is already on the odometer. Don't quote me on that though; verify that with the dealer), you should make your offer based on used-car pricing and see what happens.

We paid 54k for our '08 with 13k (dealer demo) on the clock in March of '09 in Colorado. The sticker was a bit over 73k and has the full upgrade package. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks for all the good input.

It's the end of the month and with the 2011s rolling in soon, hopefully I can find a reasonable deal!
