Wanted Factory Roll Bar - 1977+ FJ40

As best I can tell, have a 1976 40 with a 1977 hard top. Current roll bar keeps me from opening the vent windows in the top.

Please let me know what you have! Located in San Diego, but open to anywhere.

Does your top have the brackets for three point seat belts? That is the only year with vent windows and the brackets for seat belts. If not best to find a 78+.

I've got a 78 that is missing one half of one bracket. I wasn't going to sell it but I may consider it if the price is right. I'm just north east of Temecula.

Oh I just remembered the po also welded an extra piece to the front. You'd have to cut and grind that off. You can just see it behind the a pillar in this shot.

The three point belts are attached to the roll bar in my 40, not the top.

Then that was added. The wide radius back pieces did not have a bracket for seat belts. Those started with the 78 model around 7/77. 77 model had the short radius that cleared the handle for the vent window. If your top does not brackets for three point seats spot welded to lower end they were either removed or the sides are off a later model year if the top was off a North American market FJ40. Bought my 79 without a top and bought a 77 top for it. Not sure if I bought the roll bar at the same time but have a 77 roll bar. Short radius with no bracket for three point seat belts. If looking for seat belt brackets your looking for a 78 model or later roll bar
