Recently purchased ‘00 LX470 to add to the family (‘95 Land Cruiser passed down to my son).
Never built out anything for overland but certainly want to get out and do some camping.
the factory rack has a very obvious warning sticker that says 150lb max capacity. Is that about the load bars or the rack side supports?
Eventually I want to do the whole thing - probably the @prospeed rack, RTT, etc. but if I can know that I can load some stuff up top, I might do that first before a full rack replacement.
And then, recommendations on load bars? Thule, Yakima?

thanks in advance!

I decided to get one from Ben at Dissent Dissent offroad modular aluminum roof rack. | IH8MUD Forum. In the meantime I have a 160lb tent on the factory rack. It was fine on a trip to AZ and back with some time on trail..a bit squeaky and some flex but I fixed that (Mostly) with some furniture pads between the bottom of the rack crossbars and the roof. Definitely not a long term solution but I'm ok with it until my new rack arrives....

Hi, we’ve tested the rack at a verified 360 lbs dynamic and 700lbs static. This is a big 4 person RTT 270awning, 2 adults 1 child and a dog no problem 😊

oh, you've got me sold - but I haven't camped with my family before, EVER, so I'm trying to make sure they like it before I put a few grand above the seats.
And HONESTLY? I may have to pull the trigger on that Group Buy you have going on, just in case anyway!
Thanks for the reply, @prospeed !
