My '97 is in a parking lot, unable to start because the alarm went off when my wife tried to start it. I understand the electrical components will start acting squirrelly after 20 years, no matter what I do, I can't start it. The battery, coil, etc. are fine, I feel like I need to delete the alarm and bypass it so I can drive the truck home. There I will do a full delete.

I've read a few threads on this, but I'm not totally clear. The reason the "factory" alarms aren't mentioned in the owners manual or FSM is that they were installed at the different US ports or dealers, so they aren't universal.

In the pic, I've found the alarm in the top left (black box) that's zipped tied to the silver cruiser control box. In the bottom right is the sensitivity sensor and I've unplugged it from the alarm (dangling red wire). I understand if I unplug the harness (top left) from the alarm, I can plug it into the harness, thereby bypassing the alarm. This is where I'm lost, where do I plug the connector that went to the alarm?

I'm not sure about your particular brand of alarm but on mine (looks very similar to yours including location) I started to trace each wire from the alarm harness to where it was spliced into the OEM harness. Some of the wires will go up into the steering column. These are likely the ones that are preventing your car from starting.
Pull the bottom dash off and then remove the the air duct so you have better access. On mine there was a short aftermarket harness which was plugged into the main harness. This allowed a relay to be added to the starting circuit to "kill" the car if stolen. Remove the extra harness and plug in the original ends and you are good to go.
I might have some photos that I can share later when I am home.

This is the harness.

This one shows the relay which is spliced in to control starting.

Great news. The rest of the cables can simply be disconnected where they join the main harness. Then you will be done with whole thing. I couldn't deal with the lack of remote entry so I opted to fit an Avital remote start & alarm which has worked well since.

I have to do this. I think mine is draining the battery more than it should and it doesn't even work. I'm going to look for these things and report back.

I'll probably have questions... :)

If your stranded without tools, most port installed alarms can also be bypassed by simply unplugging the large Molex connector from the alarm module. Circled in yellow.

That wouldn't have worked for either of the port-installed alarms I have (had). I have (had) one of each, east coast and west coast models.
