have any of you done this?
what material and gauge have you used.
12 gage plate is about $2.00 a square foot.
anything exotic i would have to order in.

i recently did some, (not to a Cruiser) and all we did was make templates out of Thick Paper.. then cut the Dimond plate to fit the temlate, then started riviting them on the part with the most surface area, then when we got to the curve, just start shaping it onto the contour of the body with a rubber mallet.. or if you have somthing around with a similar Diameter, Use that to shape it.. The Thinner Aluminum you get the E-Zer it will be to bend.. But i am not a fan of it anyhow, perosnaly i am not doing it to my cruiser,,

i'm using steel. i'm going to have it bed lined when i do some other stuff. the reason i am doing it is because i backed into a tree last winter and hit my tire carrier. the upper carrier mount punched a hole in the quarter panel. i don't want to match the paint and spend time with glass and bondo, so i'm going to put on the plate to cover/strengthen it. should help incase i ever back into a tree again
